Cultural Committee

The College Cultural Committee is responsible for organizing the cultural festivals in the College during all the academic years. The Committee takes dedicated attention and supports students to participate in stage competitions. Participation in such competitions will definitely help the students to form a strong approach towards tolerance, team spirit, respect for others, appreciation for various cultures and traditions in Indian society and elsewhere. College cultural is a continuing development and forms an connected part of the life of every student. Every programme in our College acts as a symbol that defines the culture, rituals, and rules of the institution and more importantly represents their true spirit. In fact, such activities provide a platform for the students to exhibit their innate talents in cultural and social activities like singing, acting, dancing, fine arts, debate, miming, essay writing, quizzes, etc. These celebrations bring themselves a lot of pleasure and a flourish of eagerness.

Objectives:

  • To assist and encourage the students to actively take part in cultural and social events in the College.
  • The Cultural Committee works with the motive of holistic personality development of the students through participation in various cultural events like competitions and inter-departmental events.
  • To celebrate the thanksgiving (Pongal) celebrations, Sacred Onam day and Raksha Bandhan, Independence Day, Republic day, etc.

Disciplinary Committee

The Discipline Committee is formed to create responsiveness against and to prevent any unwell incident taking place in the campus. The Discipline Committee functions to ensure compliance with the provisions of 2015 UGC Regulations on curbing the Menace and Indiscipline activities in the college and to monitor supervising performance of the Disciplinary Squad in the prevention of in-disciplinary.

Objectives:

  • To create a safe and encouraging environment and to bring professionalism among students.
  • To counsel on policies and measures involving student self discipline
  • To structure rules, regulations and code of conduct to maintain discipline in college and to advise about social behavior of students.
  • To initiate action against the students involving in indiscipline activities.

Responsibilities:

  • To maintain and enforce strict discipline within the college campus.
  • All the students should wear their identity cards while they are in the campus and their respective class rooms.
  • In case of any misconduct or disobedience against the college rules, the ID cards of the students will be kept with the Disciplinary Committee Members till the enquiry is over.
  • To check the movement of the students in the college and prevent students loiter in the region of in the corridors during the college working hours.
  • To ensure that students maintain complete silence in the library/ academic events.

Internal Complaints Committee

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) was reframed on the basis of the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015.

According the Supreme Court’s order, Sexual Harassment is any unwelcome:

  • Physical contact and advances
  • Demand or request for sexual favors
  • sexually coloured remarks
  • Display of pornographic content in any form
  • Any other unwelcome physical, verbal and non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature.

Objectives:

  • To promote awareness about sexual harassment through educational initiatives that encourages and fosters a dignified and safe environment for women on campus.
  • To provide information regarding counseling and support services on the campus.
  • To take constant action for prevention, prohibition and redressal of complaints received regarding sexual harassment and gender discrimination of women personnel at the workplace.
  • To deal with cases of discrimination and sexual harassment against women, in a time bound manner, aiming at ensuring support services to the victimized and termination of the harassment.
  • To ensure that victims or witnesses are not threatened or penalized for making complaint.
  • To ensure that the provisions of the Act are not misused by frivolous complaints.

Guidelines:

  • Zero tolerance towards sexual harassments.
  • To carry out gender sensitization against sexual harassment, by explaining what is sexual harassment, physical, verbal, or using electronic media in collaboration with Gender Resource Centre.
  • To ensure the right to safe campus and workplace; that safety of workplace/campus means providing normal atmosphere, rather than degenerating into securitization, nor curtailing the freedom of movement of employees or students.
  • Taking into account that vulnerable groups may be particularly prone to harassment – and to look after their special needs – based on class, caste, sexual orientation, and disability
  • To provide assistance if an employee or a student chooses to file a complaint with the police.
  • To enable a complainant to make a formal complaint where the complainant so wishes, and to act in accordance with the Act of 2013 and the UGC guidelines of 2015 to ensure that complaint and inquiry are carried out fairly and within the time set out by law.
  • To protect the safety of complainant and any witnesses by not divulging identities.
  • To ensure that victims or witnesses are not threatened or penalized for making complaint.
  • To ensure that the provisions of the Act are not misused by frivolous complaints.

The Scholarship Committee is headed by the Principal of the College along with three teaching members and Management. It is the function of this committee to encourage, develop, and evaluate all scholarship program.

Objectives:

Sports and Fitness Club

Sports education is an essential part of human resource development, serving to promote good health, amity and strength of healthy competition which in turn has positive impact on holistic development of women.

Objectives:

  • To train and promote students in sports by making them as state, national and international.
  • To analyze and recognize the talent level of students for developing interest in a particular sports or physical activity and reward their potential.
  • To offer basic amenities, sports scholarship and prizes to outstanding students.
  • To make the students stress free and physically fit by utilizing the gymnasium provisions and to develop self-discipline in life.

Functions:

  • To enhance the interest of participants in the field of sports.
  • To promote individual health, physical comfort as well as the attainment of physical skill among the students.
  • Proper maintenance of sports accessories.
  • To provide necessary infrastructure for the sports.
  • To encourage and motivate students to involve in various sports activities at both inter and intra college level.
